1) Is therapy done seated or on a table?
Therapy can take place seated on a stool and/or a massage table.
2) What should I wear?
Wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothing is recommended.
3) Can I eat before or after sessions?
Preferably eat at least 1 hour before or after a session, especially athletes.
4) Are there any special health considerations?
Clients with the following conditions cannot be treated :
High fever, hypertension and heart disease, fractures and bone splits, Abscess, scurvy, leukaemia, excess rash/dermatitis, boils, mental disease, cerebral anaemia, over-fatigue after intense physical training, phlebitis – inflammation of the veins, patient with haemorrhagic nature, pregnancy, menstruation, stones in the organs, liver, kidney and urinary bladder.
If there’s any uncertainty please consult a medical practitioner before accepting Tui Na massotherapy.
5) How often should someone receive Tui Na Massotherapy?
Clients can initially come twice a week with at least one day’s break between sessions.
As the body adjusts sessions can be fortnightly or less.
It also depends on what is required as per individual needs.
6) Are there any side-effects after a session?
Certain “side-effects” might be experienced such as tiredness, lightheadedness or feeling cold. Experiences vary from person to person but these are all good signs due to the body adjusting to its new harmonious and balanced state.
